I haven't been on LJ in a long, long time. Something tells me that's not going to change anytime really soon. :-p

Fanfiction needs a new rating system:
C - Crap - Writer should be strangled
B - Better - written on at least a High School reading level
A - Amazing - read this if you have a degree and/or are a grammar Nazi.

That's all. :-)

Just found out...

sad

current mood: sad

...that one of my favorite actors, and a genuinely sweet man, died of a heart attack yesterday. Don S. Davis was Scully's dad on the X-Files, and General Hammond on Stargate SG-1. I met him and hung out with him 2 years ago at D*Con, and even got his signature on my SGOW t-shirt that year.

I'm very saddened by this news. Not only will we not see any new projects from him, but we won't get to laugh with him and crack up at D*Con again this year, where he was scheduled to attend.

Godspeed, Don.

I'm a Chevrolet Corvette!

You're a classic - powerful, athletic, and competitive. You're all about winning the race and getting the job done. While you have a practical everyday side, you get wild when anyone pushes your pedal. You hate to lose, but you hardly ever do.

Take the Which Sports Car Are You? quiz.

:::The Amazing World of Colorgenics:::

"Utmost in your mind is success. You are constantly seeking stimulation and a life full of experience. You are trying to 'grow' and above all you need to develop freely and to shake off the shackles of self-doubt. You are an enthusiastic individual, full of life with the desire to live intensely. You like contact with others and are enthusiastic by nature. You are receptive to anything new, modern or intriguing. Your interests are many and you are likely to expand your fields of activities. You are optimistic about the future and you deserve every success because deep down you are a 'winner'.

At this time you 'need to be needed' and again you 'need to need'. You have had this feeling for some time now and you are looking for someone who could share a close bond in an atmosphere of shared intimacy. You have the belief that with the right person you could conquer the world.

You are a rather inhibited sort of person. This could be the result of your upbringing or of your schooling, whatever. You are able to obtain satisfaction from various forms of physical or emotional activity but all in all you are inclined to be emotionally withdrawn. As a consequence of this you find it difficult to sustain any deep involvement.

From every direction there appear to be unwarranted restrictions on your freedom of action and this is producing considerable stress. You're really looking for independence and freedom from any restriction and therefore avoiding any obligations or anything which might prove hampering. You are being subjected to considerable pressures and you would like nothing better than to escape from them but you tend to lack the necessary strength of purpose to succeed in this. Whichever way you turn you are being frustrated. You need to be free to do your 'thing' in your own way.

You don't like authority and you rebel against all forms of limitation. You are your own person and you intend to stay that way and to get on in the world simply by your hard work and determination."
